The strength and selling point of Gionee Marathon series is the massive battery it houses inside. Gionee of China has introduced the Marathon M4 smartphone in India. As its name suggests, it is powered by huge 5000 mAh battery, which is claimed to provide 50 hours of talk time and 440 hours of standby time. The Marathon M4 is 4G LTE enabled and also supports Dual 4G SIMs along with OTG connectivity.

Gionee Marathon M4 is powered by 1.3 GHZ Quad core 64 bit processor for faster processing, smoother viewing and browsing experience. Reading stories, watching videos, sending texts and emails, has got easier on the stunning 5.0 inch HD AMOLED screen. Marathon M4 runs on the advanced Android 5.0, amigo3.0 and a specially designed Music player. The device also comes in with a very interesting feature ‘Hotknot’. The feature allows two phones to exchange photos and videos in an instant as long as the two screens are put together.
The Gionee Marathon M4 features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and various photography features such as Face beauty, Panorama, Geo-tagging, Touch focus, 20 snaps in one click, pic note and HDR mode. While it also houses a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with Full-HD video recording. It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage which is further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB.
The Marathon M4 measures 144.7 x 71.2 x 10.18mm in dimensions but no word on the weight; majority of the thickness can be attributed to the huge battery and the weight wouldn’t be feather weight too.
Marathon M4 sports 16GB of internal memory along with an external memory card slot that can squeeze in an additional 32GB. The phone also features Gionee Hotknot which lets users exchange files by touching the screens of the devices. For photography lovers, the smartphone comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera along with an LED flash. Gionee M4 supports dual-SIM and comes with the usual bevy of connectivity options.

Gionee Marathon M4 will be available for purchase in two colors including Black and White. With most smartphones struggling to last until the end of the day, it’s good that manufacturers are now focusing on battery life. It will be interesting to see how the real-world performance of the Marathon M4 pans out.
