The Best Android Apps For Yoga

September is National Yoga Month, which aims to educate people about the health and wellness benefits that yoga brings. While yoga is an ancient art of breathing and stretching, that doesn't mean that it's adherents haven't embraced the wonders of modern technology. Yoga, it is the well-known exercise and spiritual awareness for wide range of people across the world. Now, yogis can sign into virtual yoga practice from anywhere with the help of best yoga apps. Some apps even include soothing voice of virtual yoga instructor and music to make the practice easy. Check out some of our favorite yoga apps below!

Yoga.com Studio
Yoga.com Studio provides Android and iOS yoga practitioners with a wealth of programs and poses designed for all skill levels. Preset programs and poses within the library come with HD video demonstrations, and users can add their own poses and variants, as well as their own custom programs. Additionally, the app comes with its own social community where you can share or search for custom programs, and scheduling features to track your workouts on a calendar.

Pocket Yoga
Pocket Yoga is the perfect app for those who wants to make an investment because the app is available for $3. As you are paying something so definitely you will get good output so here it is you will get 200 poses with posture and alignment, detailed voice instructions with guides for every pose with inhalation and exhalation timing. You will also get dictionary with the benefits of each pose.

Simply Yoga
Much like Yoga Studio, Simply Yoga lets users change the settings for the classes to be delivered in any combination of detailed instructions, pose names, and ocean wave sounds; or none at all. Users are given the option to start an entire workout from the beginning, or to start from a specific pose in the chosen class. The instructions are clear and the teacher gives full descriptions setting up for each pose and moving between each pose; reminding users to relax and to breathe deeply while practicing. The paid version of this app also includes a custom class building feature so users can create a custom class.

The video for this app is a bit more distracting than other yoga apps; it features a girl performing yoga in a living room on her carpet, whereas other apps tend to have either a green screen or nature scene as the backdrop. The instructor also seemed to incorrectly demonstrate a few poses, but anyone familiar with basic yoga poses will still benefit from the class since they know proper technique. Beginners may want to consider reading the instructions on poses or even taking a class in person with a yoga instructor so that they understand the importance of not pushing themselves into poses that aren’t comfortable.

Simply Yoga can be downloaded in the App Store for iOS and Google Play store for Android for $2.99 at the time of this writing. There is also a free version called Simply Yoga Free, which features full length level one classes, but does not offer any higher levels of yoga, or the option to build a class. The free app is still a great tool, especially for beginners unsure about investing in a yoga app before giving it a try.

Office Yoga
Everyone spend lot of time at their offices so the left time to do exercise is less. Office Yoga, this app features simple postures that can be performed when you are at the office.

All these postures can be perfectly executed when you are at your desk, at your office machine, the copying machine and more. These postures assist in de-stressing and relaxing completely.

Daily Yoga
Whether you want to delve into a five-minute workout or a 45-minute workout, Daily Yoga has options for you. The best feature on Daily Yoga is the HD videos with step-by-step instructions. Besides this captivating feature, Daily Yoga can help you stay motivated by connecting with others via the app’s global community.

One defining feature of Daily Yoga is that it is more weight-loss oriented than some of the other yoga apps mentioned here. As such, you can select from different workout intensities (ranging from casual to intense), so as you lose more weight you can take on more intense workouts. You can also focus on your abs, chest, back and other “problem areas” many of us have so you get a workout in the areas where you need it most.

Also, if you’re someone who struggles to find new yoga poses, this may be a good app for you to consider, since it boasts more than 400 yoga poses, as well as a live voice guide, so you can make sure you’re performing the poses correctly.

No wait lists, no missed classes and no stressing out just to get to class.

DailyBurn Yoga
Designed for yogis looking to stay fit and increase flexibility, DailyBurn’s two-month yoga program alternates between challenging flows and more meditative sessions. Want to broaden your fitness routine from vinyasa flows to other types of training? Complement your yoga practice with a full range of kettlebell workouts, HIIT routines, and more, all available within the same app.

Yoga Fitness 3D
Finally, I want to mention an app because of its differences from the yoga applications one can find on the current market. I think Yoga Fitness 3D is only good for reference (at least, for now); it provides 3D animations for different postures (some of which are only available in the Pro version). You can scroll the 3D image all around to examine a posture from every imaginable angle and get a better understanding of what you're supposed to be doing. I believe this type of applications is very difficult to implement, and I cannot imagine that the effort put into this app payed off. It may not be that handy or useful, but it undoubtedly is beautiful.
