Review of Petalite Flux The Smartphone Charger

A recent study found that 92% of British people would feel stressed if the battery in their Smartphone were to run out, highlighting our increasing dependence on technology. At least 60% of the people surveyed said they would be frustrated and 25% said they would feel panicked if their battery ran out. Well, that’s a critical point as the usage of smartphones are increasing very rapidly in the global market.

There are lots of portable charging systems on the market today to help you keep your smartphones and other Android devices topped off and full of power. The catch is that it can take hours to charge some of the portable battery packs before they are of any use to you on the go. A new portable charging system called the Petalite Flux has surfaced and it promise to be blazing fast.

Inspired by electric car technology, Petalite has developed a portable power pack that can be charged in just 15 minutes with our Power Dock. With 2600mAh capacity the Flux is not only durable and stylish but can give you enough power to charge your smartphone or other compatible gadgets throughout the day.

The Petalite Flux battery, created by Leigh Purnell, an Aston University graduate. The Petalite Flux charger comes in four different color options, namely red, white, black and blue, while it’s also small enough to fit in your pockets. To be precise, the dimensions of this tiny portable charger are 90mm x 30mm x 30mm. Tipping the scales at just 95g, it carries inside it a 2600mAh automotive grade cell.

A cool part about the Petalite Flux is that it features green status indicator LEDs to let you know how much charge it has left in itself. It is said to possess a life cycle of more than 1000 charges which the company claims to be twice that of standard phone batteries.

You can easily take it along with you on your daily travels since it’s light and portable and fits in your pocket. Just whip it out whenever you need to charge your phone and you’re good to go! And thanks to its durable construction, it can take a beating when tossed into your bag or in your desk at work. And it lasts up to 3x longer than other external batteries since it has a life-span of more than 1,5000 charge cycles.

It getting fully charged within 15 minutes is something that makes everyone wonder, and this is achieved by it because of it accompanying adock that helps in offering a charge rate that when compared with an USB 2.0 port is 20 times faster. A new kind of connector is said to accompany this charger which being on a patent review is still not disclosed by the company.

It works with both iPhone and Android handsets, as it has a microUSB and Lightning cable ports. And it promises a long lifespan. Petalite is offering some discounts if you get in early, too. The standard battery is just $27 (RRP $40), while the dock is $37. You can buy both together – as each on their own are useless – for $64 (RRP $90). That translates to £41, which isn't bad. It's already raised nearly $9,000, and still has 27 days to go.
