Google Play store has quite a lot of error codes and while most of them are geted fixed by Google, there are few of them which still exists. One of the issues a lot of users face with Google Play store is the “No Connection – Retry” Error. Even if you have Internet connection working on your Android phone, Play store refuses to connect and shows this error. You will be able to access Internet from other apps and also browser but the play store still shows this error.
Normally you can see that this network problem seem to be stuck with Google Play Store app only since everything else is well connected and working. Many a times we replace, reinstall it but to no avail. So here are a few tips and how-to solutions on how you can get rid of this fretting problem.
Fix Date and Time Settings
It works 80 percent of the time. Google Play Services sync with their master servers to send and receive data, to do this your device time and date should be correctly set. I used to change time settings to cheat extra lives on Candy Crash Saga and later that turned out to be the main culprit behind connection error issue.
- Go to Settings > Date & Time
- Check Automatic date & time
- Or alternatively, you can set time by yourself, just make sure it is correct.
Clear the Cache on your Android Device
Clear the Play Store cache. The Google Play Store app on your Android device stores some cache data on your device which could be one of the reasons why you are not able to connect to Google servers using the app and keep getting the “No connection – Retry” error message. How to fix it? Read the quick and easy steps below:
- Go to Settings > Apps.
- Scroll to All apps and then scroll down to “Google Play Store” app.
- Open the app details and tap on the “Force stop” button.
- Then, tap on the “Clear cache” button.
That’s it. Now start the Google Play Store app on your phone / tablet and it should load and work absolutely fine!
Reinstall Or Updates the app
Try reinstalling the app or update the Play store app in case not working. For updating you might have to download the latest Play store APK file and install it by copying the file on to your device. Cross check if Google services framework is also the latest on your device.
Make Sure to Enter the Correct Google / Gmail Password
Another solution is to check your Google / Gmail account password. Did you change it and forget to re-enter in on your Android device? Whenever you change your password your Android device gets a notification to re-enter it. As soon as you correctly enter your new password, your Android phone or tablet would be able to get all the Google services back on the device.
Reset Your phone
Last, factory reset your phone. We do not want you to do this, but this seems to be the last option if the Google Play Store just doesn’t work. However, before you try doing this, please make sure you backup your Android phone or tablet as a factory reset will completely wipe out all your data. You can go through some of the backup tips given below, if needed:
- Backup your Apps.
- Backup your SMS messages.
- Backup Contacts, Gmail and Google Data.
- Backup Call History.
- Backup WhatsApp Messages.
- Backup APN Settings: GPRS, 3G, MMS Settings.
