Tips To Increase Your Blog Traffic

Today, you don’t gain blog traffic by paying for backlinks or by swapping them like the old days. Instead, you need to focus on creating quality content that is beneficial to your visitors. We know that. But how do you do it? And do it consistently? The content should solve main problems faced by your reader. It should be actionable, specific and relevant to the audience. If you do this, your audience will come to trust your site, and visit it regularly looking for new content. They will also engage with you, which helps you to improve your blog.

To that end, here are Some new ways of looking at increasing your blog traffic.

Blog Commenting
As you all know blog commenting is the easy and effective way to bring targeted blog traffic. But commenting in the unrelated blogs or commenting on old posts don’t give you much blog traffic.

Try to comment on top blogs in your niche. Before that make a list of top 25 blogs list in your niche and start commenting on them. Make it a habit of commenting on new posts/fresh posts in those blogs.

Try to be the top 5 first commenters, this brings you instant traffic to your blog. And make sure you are leaving at least 10 to 15 comments everyday to boost your blog traffic.Mention Other Bloggers That You Follow in Your Posts Whenever You CanYour blog is your main venue of communication with your readers — readers you hope will become prospects and then customers.

While your main intent at all times is of course to grow your business, don’t focus on “selling” your products or services when you blog. Just focus on providing good information on a regular basis that readers will find interesting and informative, and they’ll keep coming back for more.

Just as importantly, do your fellow bloggers the courtesy of mentioning them in your posts when you find something of value in what they’ve had to say. Make your honorable mentions look good, and then follow up by tweeting them to tell them the good news. They’ll appreciate it – and they just might return the favor, too; yet another way to get even more visibility and more traffic to your website.

Rich snippets from structured data
Google constantly expands the types of rich snippets it shows in search results, including events, songs, videos and breadcrumbs.

The first time I heard about structured data was from a presentation by Matthew Brown at MozCon in 2011. Matthew now works at Moz, and I'm happy to glean from his expertise. His Schema 101 presentation below is well worth studying.  If you're just getting started, check out this amazingly helpful Guide to Generating Rich Snippets from the folks at SEOgadget. Two of our favorite types of markup for increasing clicks are videos and authorship.

Improving site speed
Improving site speed not only improves visitor satisfaction (see point #1) but it may also have a direct influence on your search rankings. In fact, site speed is one of the few ranking factors Google has confirmed.

One of the interesting things we learned this year, with help from the folks at Zoompf, is that actual page load speed may be far less important than Time to First Byte (TTFB). TTFB is the amount of time it takes a server to first respond to a request.  As important as page speed is for desktop search Google considers it even more important for mobile devices. Think about the last time you waited for a page to load on your cell phone with a weak signal.

"Optimizing a page's loading time on smartphones is particularly important given the characteristics of mobile data networks smartphones are connected to."

Facebook Marketing
This is my best traffic source. Facebook is giving me 50-60 leads every day. So, don’t neglect this strategy. Promote your blog posts on Facebook immediately after publishing.Create a Facebook fan page for your blog and submit your post links there and also send add requests to the Facebook groups which are related to your niche.

Facebook groups are the best place to promote your blog posts daily. Moreover you can learn many things from the group members. If you don’t know about these groups, let me help you. Here are few groups in which I am actively participating. You can send add requests here.
YouTube Marketing
Create videos. Try to create your own videos that helps improve your blog traffic really fast. This strategy works because YouTube is the #2 search engine in the world. Moreover many bloggers are focusing only on textual content creation. So, if you work on this (at least create 1 video a week instead of normal articles) you can immensely increase your blog traffic.

Simple tip here is: Create your own YouTube account/channel and then start uploading your videos every week. In the starting of the description of that video, put your blog link. In that way you can get the blog traffic from YouTube. But keep in mind that it takes time. But surely it works.

Syndicate your posts
Syndicating your blog posts will expose them to more readers. You can use RSS feed or syndicate the blog to applicable high-traffic sites. RSS feeds allow your audience to keep track of your blogs without having to bookmark it. The readers only need to open their RSS reader and all your posts will be displayed there. Syndicating your blog to high traffic sites will also popularize it. This will also give your post more credibility, which could lead to high traffic.

Get Your Readers Involved
Unlike articles, blog posts provide the perfect environment for some give-and-take from your readers. Get them involved! Don’t just hope they’ll comment on something you’ve written, ask them to comment on what you’ve written, and invite them to share your posts.

Keep the conversation going by picking up readers’ questions or comments  and using them to create new blog posts that specifically address reader concerns. This is a great way to get more traffic to your website, because your readers will proudly pass those posts along. Who doesn’t appreciate being heard and having his or her concerns addressed directly? It’ll make you look good, too. This is yet another chance to demonstrate yourself as the trusted expert in your niche, and again a boon to your business.
