This plugin is the best Database plugin and you will be more than happy to use it. It will keep your blog secure and fast. One of the features I personally like is that this plugin can be configured to have the backup copy can be sent to your email. It has all the functionality you desire from a Database manager to have.
Features & Functions :
Database
This option refers all the database information and table information.
Backup DB
This is the best feature of WP-DBManager. You can back up your WordPress database with just a click and never worry for a breaking down of your blog it is very safe to your blog.
Manage Backup DB
You can manage your backup database by database file name, Date, size etc.
You can also E-mail, Download, Delete, Restore your backup database.
Optimize DB
This option help you to optimize your database. Optimization should be done once in every month. You will see here a list of tables and database in your account. Scroll below them and click on Optimize. Your WordPress Database is optimized.
Repair DB
With just a click of button your WordPress Database can be repaired viaWP-DBManager. You will see here a list of tables and database. See below them and click on Repair. Your WordPress Database is Repaired.
Empty/Drop Tables
- Emptying a table means all the rows in the table will be deleted. This action is Irreversible.
- Dropping a table means deleting the table. This action is Irreversible.
-By selecting Empty or Drop option your table will be emty by one click on the Empty/Drop and it will done.
Run SQL Query
It is very simple in SQL queries you can use only INSERT, CREATE, DELETE, REPLACE, ALTER and UPDATE query.

In WP-DBManager, from here you can change settings for all the features. You can control the backup time period, repair time period and optimizing time period. You can set paths for back up and SQL dumps. There are some notes given in the settings menu, be sure to read them before making any altercations in the options.

In the above features I have already mentioned how and when to use specific features and for now you can start with taking a backup of your database and optimising your database. You can also configure this plugin to take automatic backup of your database, but I would recommend some other plugin which can take database backup along with your WP-content folder. (You can’t restore a blog on a new server just with database backup).
